RN/Charge Nurse (Part Time)

The RN Charge position is responsible to the Director of Nursing or designee to provide nursing services on the assigned unit to assure quality of care according to Bethany Home policies and procedures. The Registered Nurses are in charge of the facility in the absence of administrative or supervisory staff. Their responsibilities include taking charge in an emergency of any kind and directing activities toward the safety and security of the residents according to policy and procedure in the emergency and disaster plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.

•    Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient

•    Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol

•    Maintain compliance with regulations established for professional licensure and for facility licensure

•    Attend shift report and count narcotics at the beginning and end of each shift

•    Accurate pouring and timely administration of all medications and immediate charting of them in accordance with established procedures

•    Carrying out all treatment orders and changing of dressings as ordered by the resident's physician

•    Notify the physician according to policy and procedure

•    Ensure that diets are served as prescribed

•    Order medications as supply demands. Check and sign in the medications when received in the facility from the pharmacy

•    Monitor bowel schedule for each resident and assign bowel care to CNA's in accordance with the physician's orders

•    Provide daily bowel list and follow-up with PM shift

•    Monitor Hemocults to ensure compliance

•    Monitor Meal percentages

•    Properly note physician's orders, receive telephone orders and handle in accordance with established policy

Unit Clerk


The Unit Clerk will assist the Skilled Nursing department with various administrative duties such as scheduling, ordering supplies and inventory audits.  This position will report directly the DON or Designee.

 Essential Duties:

  • Assist DSD with staff schedules. 

  • Responsible for audits for tardiness and absences, vacation, sick time, overtime, etc. 

  • Recruits fill in staff for call-ins as needed. 

  • Shall do inventory and ordering of medical supplies under D.O.N. direction.

  • Assign stocking of medical supplies at each designated area.

  • Audits resident assignment groups following admission and as needed for changes.

  • Incontinence supplies ordering, assessing for changes in resident’s needs for incontinent products, inventory and audits.

  • Complete daily shift sign-in sheets and audit for completeness.

  • Other assignments as directed by the D.O.N.

    Education and/or Experience                                 

  • Have a minimum of 6 months of administrative experience.

Bethany Home’s Skilled Nursing Facility is currently accepting applications for part-time Dietary Aide. Current openings are for the 12pm – 8:30 pm shift. Includes some weekends and holidays.
